It's not all that easy to get in to the studio here in Florence... so we use what light we can.

sunny days
I haven't really updated in a while. I must say. the one thing i miss most about san jose is the free, anytime access i had to the photo studio and the photo lab equipment. It made it so much easier to go out and take pictures. Here i have to get a little more creative with natural light. I wish i at least had a flash with me. sigh. 'cest la vie. Wine's cheaper here so i guess that's the equalizer.
anyway! here's some pictures i've taken for my photo class so far. nothing too special. just a window and a beautiful girl. I edited them a little more on the school computer so these aren't the final edits. but these are good enough to show i think.

This is the classroom in which i will be studying italian. questa e' la classe in cui mi sara studiare l'italiano.

A friend/customer/regular at the garage suggested i take pictures of old doors in italy. I had planned on doing something like that.

MUCH more to come. :)
When i came across a bike chained next to a wall in one of the alleyways in florence i knew right away what my subject matter was going to be.
I love the contrast of the bright colored bikes against the camel and grey of the old florentine brick walls.
here's the start of what i have.

i've been out of the US for about 9 hours.
I spent 9 HOURS on a plane next to a small indian girl that kept crossing the armrest barrier. sigh. at least they were cute. I'm in frankfurt germany on a 4ish hour layover right now. trying to watch true blood as it streams (slowly) over the computer. i can't wait to get to a country were i can at least kind of understand the language.
i'm paying 8 euros for this internet. sigh.
This is not a post about photography. buuut. there's a lot of photographic potential in where i'm going? does that count?
